Suction Hose Reinforcement for Dust Collection: What to Specify
Specify reinforcement, wall material and connection detail for flexible suction hose used in industrial dust collection.

Suction needs structural support
Under negative pressure, the flexible hose wall must resist deformation as well as carry airflow. Diameter, vacuum level, unsupported span, bend condition and reinforcement spacing all affect how a suction hose behaves. A positive-pressure fabric duct is not automatically a substitute for a dust-collection suction hose.
Material follows the conveyed dust
Wood dust, powder, plastic regrind, metal chips and damp particles create different abrasion, temperature and static considerations. Describe the particle size, sharpness, moisture, air velocity and process environment before selecting PU hose or another reinforced flexible duct.
Check the complete extraction system
Connections, blast gates, hoods and grounding arrangements can affect system performance and safety. Provide the vacuum, airflow, hose diameter, length, bend radius and grounding requirement for a practical supplier discussion. Final system design and compliance remain project-specific.
