Flexible Duct Connectors for Vibration and Thermal Expansion
Define vibration, axial movement and thermal expansion when specifying an industrial flexible duct connector.

Name the movement type
Vibration isolation, axial extension, lateral offset and angular movement are different duties. A flexible duct connector should be sized and constructed around the expected movement rather than simply made longer. The movement source may be a fan, motor, hot equipment or a misaligned rigid duct run.
Heat adds another design condition
Thermal expansion can change clamp load, fabric tension and clearances during operating cycles. State normal and peak temperature, external radiant heat, pressure and any gas or fume exposure. This helps determine whether PVC fabric, silicone fiberglass, insulated fabric or another construction should be considered.
Use drawings for non-standard interfaces
For a custom connector, send both flange details, installed face-to-face length, movement allowance, equipment photo and service conditions. A drawing reduces ambiguity and supports sampling, fit review and consistent repeat production.
