What Information Is Needed for a Custom Flexible Duct Quote?
Use this RFQ checklist to request a custom flexible duct quotation with the operating conditions, connection details, dimensions and commercial information a manufacturer needs.

Describe the medium and operating conditions
A useful custom flexible duct quote starts with what travels through the hose: clean air, hot air, exhaust gas, fumes, powder, chips, oil mist or another medium. Add normal and peak temperature, peak duration, positive pressure or vacuum, airflow if available, chemical exposure and any external radiant heat. These conditions influence the material, wall construction, reinforcement and whether an insulated or metal construction should be considered.
Provide accurate dimensions and connection details
State the required inside diameter, working length, maximum and minimum length if telescopic, bend radius, movement and available installation space. Show both ends with a drawing or clear photographs. A nominal diameter alone is not enough for a flexible connector: flange face, bolt pattern, cuff length, clamp position, square-to-round transition and space for installation can change the construction.
Explain the equipment and application
Name the equipment and where the flexible duct sits in the system, such as an industrial dryer, oven, portable fan, blower outlet, tunnel, dust collector or material-transfer line. This gives context for vibration, maintenance movement, insulation, abrasion and safe routing. It also lets the supplier distinguish a general ventilation hose from a high-temperature flexible connector or negative-pressure duct.
Include commercial and destination information
For an export quotation, add estimated quantity, repeat-order expectation, destination country, desired delivery timing and preferred shipping route. If distributor packing, labeling, mixed-SKU supply or private-label arrangements are required, state this before pricing. Low-value bulky ducting may need a planned bulk or mixed order to make logistics commercially sensible, so quantity and packing are part of the product decision.
Confirm what still needs validation
A quotation can recommend a construction, but it does not replace equipment-level validation. List any standard, certification, flame, anti-static, food-contact, temperature or inspection requirement that must be confirmed for the final product and market. A complete RFQ reduces redesign, avoids misleading comparisons and makes sampling or repeat production easier to control.
