How to Select a High Temperature Exhaust Hose for Ovens and Furnaces

A practical request-for-quotation checklist for hot-air recirculation, oven exhaust and furnace extraction projects.

How to Select a High Temperature Exhaust Hose for Ovens and Furnaces

Separate hot air from hot gas

Clean heated air, combustion exhaust, solvent vapor and dust-laden fume can require different wall materials and connection details. State the process and any corrosive, oily or particulate content before requesting a hose recommendation.

Provide continuous and peak temperature

An oven may operate steadily at one temperature but expose the connector to hotter bursts during opening, cleaning or production changes. Give both values, plus the expected frequency and duration of each peak.

Specify pressure, movement and end connections

Fan static pressure, vacuum level, flange geometry, bend radius and required movement affect the reinforcement and end design. A flexible connector should not be treated as an unreinforced piece of fabric between two ducts.

Plan for inspection

Include access for visual inspection of seams, cuffs, clamps and the first bend near the equipment. Early signs of thermal aging or abrasion should be corrected before a leak affects air balance or operator safety.
